After I watched a documentary from http://www.home-2009.com/us/index.html, on 17th September 2009 (Monday), I sensed that the main purpose of it is to remind people about the price that we need to pay for development.

The highlights of this experience are how human behavior could lead to many problems, how those problems could lead to extinction and why we should change our behaviors toward the earth. Human kinds are very well-known of their greediness and selfishness. People dug out resources from the soil, pollute the environment and destroy the earth.

Initially, I feel glad that I live in a life with modern technologies but anxiety when I realized the problems we create. We are warned about the effect of polluting the environment but yet, many of us still do it.

To make comparisons between the environment billions years ago from the film and the environment I live in, I see many differences. Such that, there is a huge difference of todays air pollution and billions of years ago atmosphere. Buildings are emerging as time pass. These show that we are developing as we are destroying our nature.

I was surprised to know that the earth used four billions years to form trees. Knowing that from the documentary I watched, I believe that trees are one of the most prized possessions.

I learned many new words such as archeobacteria, megalopolises, cyanobacteria and more. From ‘HOME’, a film by Yann Arthus – Bertrand explained that primitive life forms give them their colors called ‘Archeobacteria’. Besides, I also learned many histories on many countries like Borneo, Dubai and etc. Example; in the year 1960, there existed a population of 700,000. People should not be selfish as it might affect others as well.

In conclusion, I came out with the thought that I should be more aware of my behavior towards the environment. It is not only for the sake of other people but to be a role model to the next generations as well.
